Hi Guys,
Ok, I know that some of you know that WoN exists but sadly have not registered yet. Well a rather important thread has begun and the University shootings have come up. Once again I have taken a stance against violent video games and violence within society. However I know there are good Christian folk here and this is a bit of a plea. Please get involved if you can, there are folk on WoN that really need to be reached. Now of course the context of WoN is different from Lilbro but it allows Christians to get into contact with unbelieving users. Les will tell you herself that in Private messages and forum posts Christians do get opportunities to witness. WoN is a site I begun, its a site I run from a Christian perspective. If Christians could help by supporting it then that would be great.
Why did I start WoN? I started it because I wanted a place where Christians and Non Christians could enjoy a good clean place where gaming (which is a hobby of mine) could be discussed. I really wanted to make a difference in the lives of folk who enjoy games because even folk like that can be reached for the gospels cause. And even if the Gospel is rejected when users hear of it, at least WoN still provides a good clean environment for them.
My plea is at an end.
Regards,
Jonah.

I have not been to w-o-n.org yet this morning, Lilbro is always my first stop. I will go there now and see what is going on, I do know that Jonah does always take a stand for the right thing in gaming. I also know that gaming
is not the focus here but we do all try to witness when we can.
I am going to see what is going on there. I have supported Jonah there. I have had a chance to share my beliefs in private messages. I have been able to state my beliefs ( in a limited manner -- it is a gaming site ) on the forum. I do not know how far this discussion will go.
I will report back, I know most of you are in school now anyway.

I think this is what Jonah is talking about:

Jack Thompson said on Fox that videogames must have been the reason for the University massacre yesterday, and that it's the root of all evil..blah blah blah. Even though initial reports indicated that it had something to do with the killers girlfriend.

I think one of the fathers whose child was killed in columbine hit it straight on the head. He stated that we live in a society that now tolerates and glorifies violence. I know we have had this conversation before and I'm really upset about these circumstances, I really feel for the parents and families that have lost love ones in all of this. Game developers however really do need to look at the products they put on the shelves. I have said it before and I will say it again, I do believe that needlessly violent games can stoke the rage and black nature within a person. However the film industry needs to look at itself for the same reason, actually society as a whole really needs to look at itself.

I have come out before against violent games, Manhunt 2 was discussed. I will post about this and watch the topic. I think it is an ongoing issue in gaming.
I realize that most of you do not concentrate on gaming and that you do not support or play the violent and depraved ones.

Jonah I wonder if you are willing to throw w-o-n open to a truly Christian based discussion ? Most here are very out spoken about our faith and I am not sure if you want that on w-o-n. Sometimes it is hard for me to
not be more outspoken there but I respect your way of reaching people and I try to follow your lead. I do not know if all of the members there would accept that. I know that sometimes you have to tread gently and I try to do that. It is my desire to help but do no harm in what you are trying to do. I was gratified by your Easter post but I am never quite sure how much I should say. W-o-N is rare, it is a clean and safe place for a 62 year old female gamer. That says a lot in the world we live in today.
Just so you all know Logan found the site and recommended it to me when it was so quiet here. I feel safe there and Jonah does a good job of keeping it clean. When Logan had time for gaming he posted there as well, as Shadow of course.

Les asked me about what I am looking for in regards to posting on WoN. Its fair to say that if we just started blasting with bible verses etc then most would be offended. However, I have noticed that a little hint here and there can lead folk into asking questions. You know like I do Les that everyone knows about me, every now and again I drop a really big bombshell that focuses upon God, Like I did at easter. If there are any gamers here that would like to give honest answers to certain issues then please do, but of course be careful in the way that people are approached. And in a way, WoN is not all that different from Beau's intentions for Lilbro.
"Lilbro.net is meant to be a community of people talking with other people about mainly Mario & Luigi based Nintendo games. We are trying to build a fun, safe place where people can come for information about the Mario Games or to ask (or answer) questions about them. "
If you need more clarification then just let me know. :)

I think that everyone can take it from there.
Yes Beau's intention here is as you stated but Beau and Logan have always spoken openly of faith and we
all do here share that faith with each other. This is a very unique community as in the fact that we are in many cases acquainted in real life and Panther, Silas, Logan and Beau have been friends for years. I suspect Himura as well although I am just now having the pleasure of getting to know him. Logan, Beau, and Silas and I have become friends since Logan and Beau moved close to me. We all know and respect each other as Christians, it is very easy for us to share our faith. Oogy is my neighbor ( country terms and and shares the same faith as me ). I feel that I know JJ from many years of emails and post and I believe that I will meet her some day. We just sort of understand each other here.
I do understand what you are saying and as you know I have done my best to follow your lead and not be too outspoken. I have noticed that more and more you allow the minister to show through of late and I feel that you know when the time is right. I They also know that they know my position and that I am also a devout Christian. That was evident in a recent conversation I had with Wayne.
I would suggest to my very dear friends here, that after reading the post ( and I will keep you informed ) that if you think you can help, then you know the web address. ( posted earlier by me ) I will share any further relevant post, I do not think Jonah would mind.

"Its fair to say that if we just started blasting with bible verses etc then most would be offended. "
There has been the urge to blast a time or two --- oh yes indeed -- but out of respect for w-o-n and what you are trying to accomplish I have manged to be somewhat gentle. Logan did tell me that I was scathing once on w-o-n though !
Everyone here is respectful and I think you have made your wishes clear Jonah, thanks. You have to be careful with us Americans, we can tend to be very outspoken at times --- oh OK -- I can be very outspoken
at times. I thought I would be you to that one guys !

Keep those bombshells coming the more the better I say ! However that just makes my point, here that would have been the sentiment of all. You are doing a very good job Jonah -- I am so proud of you for all that you do at w-o-n. I know you are doing what you are led to do. I will follow your lead and help if I can.
Good morning all.
