We have had the most wonderful Easter, our pastor blessed us with his sermon, I am still thinking about what he said and how blessed we are to know our Lord and Saviour, to know that he lives. We sang the song, What A Mighty God We Serve. It is so true, I love the words to that song. All the songs were blessing and the service meant so much to me. I feel uplifted, stronger, and very humble to know that the cross was all about our salvation. I am so thankful to be a Christian.

Does anyone want to share about their Easter ? I hope you will.

He is risen!!!!!!!!!!! Our church had two services, (normally we have one) and seeing as how my family tends to run sound, (and do other general-run-things-behind-the-scenes type of stuff) we went to both. My dad sang in a ensemble for some special music. My pastor gave us many good points, but one that will keep coming to mind is that we as Christians are God's chosen. Being that, we are to take the Gospel to others, because we don't have to worry about anything that happens on this earth, nothing can take away our inheritance in heaven.

I had a great day. We had a "sunrise service" outside at 7:00 this morning. It was a bit cold, but that's alright. Then we ate breakfast and talked for a while. After that we went into our regular Sunday school and church services. Then this evening we had our usual evening service. It was a good day to spend reflecting on the things Christ did for us.

One of my sisters was able to come in for the weekend too, so that was fun.

All day, I've had a song running through my head. It's a good song any day, but I think it's especially appropriate today. I love the words.

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev'ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow'r of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow'r of Christ I'll stand.

I did enjoy both of those post, sounds like your family is good at giving and helpin Panther. I am not surprised. He is risen, it is impossible to say that too many times. Yes I agree our true treasures are laid up in heaven.

My goodness Oogy your church is tough ! It was 21 degrees Easter Sunday morning here. Sunrise services
were canceled and I do love Easter Sunday sunrise service. Our church had 3 Sunday morning services but all inside, we had the norman Sunday evening services. You are not that far away -- it must have been very cold there as well. I had to take a dog to the vet this morning ( routine surgery ) and we were talking about Easter and the meaning and still reflecting about the things Christ does for all of us. ( my vet is my cousin so I stay while they do the surgery and visit ). I have been so uplifted since our easter services.

Oogy I have never heard that song, I love the words to it, do you suppose it might be on a gospel album somewhere, I would like to get it. Thank you so much for sharing that one with us. I find the words to songs
of faith to be so moving.

This is my favorite part.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

That is just wonderful. I am his and he is mine --- to belong to the risen Saviour is such a wonderful thing. I
am so troubled for people I care about that have not accepted him. Time is short.

I am pretty sure it is sung by the Newsboys on their CD titled Adoration. On the radio the other day, I think they said Avalon's newest CD has it. I'll bet it's been sung by others as well.

I was introduced to the song by the group that I spend most of last month with. We sang it at a lot of the churches we went to.

I had a great time to although we didn't have a early morning service. My family gos to a small group church that meets in one of the families home.

We didn't do anything special per say for easter but had our normal discussion which was about how angels are powerful spiritual beings but is not given the same mercy as men. We further discussed how amazing it is that Christ has invited us to sit on his throne with him....which is something that we truly don't deserve. The mercy and grace of God are truly amazing.

Ah I know that hymn very well. It's quite a modern one in hymn terms but I like it, it's full to the brim of theological imagery. It's very rare actually for modern Christian song writers to produce something so good. I will try and get a music file so that Les can here the tune that goes along with it. If I can't find one then I will get Ruth on the Piano and I will record here playing it. Actually Ruth is a beautiful singer, she may even give a vocal. :)

I have added a version of the song to Christian Corner. I just thought that I can't do things here like that at Lilbro so I will still keep Christians Corner active but I will update folk with whats featured.

Well that all sounds very good indeed Jonah -- my next stop will be Christian Corner. I very much appreciate
getting to hear Oogy's song. I glad Christian Corner will still be there, it has been part of my morning routine for a long time now. Everyone should stop by, it is a beautiful site.

If there is any chance -- any at all -- that Ruth would record it, well I would treasure that beyond words !

I am not that familiar with newer hymns -- I do not listen to the radio much and if they do not sing it at church I am not likely to hear it. Seeing the words to that song makes me think I could be missing out. If anyone has any others that bless them, please, a mention of them would be great. I do trust you young ones to keep me aware of what is happening in the world.

It is nice to hear about your Easter Sunday Himura -- it is good to know that we were all spending the day worshiping the Lord.

Thanks for the added information Oogy, I am going to check into those groups, like I said before clearly it is not good that I am so set in my ways and have only been listening to the old hymns -- I am going to do better.
Have you been staying in touch with your summer mission group, I can imagine that there was quite a lot to talk over. Sometimes it seems that after an experience like that when you have the time to stop and think about it
so much comes to mind that you did not have time to fully appreciate at the time.
