I have read both books. Who else has read them?

Me Me Me -- I have read both of them -- I did not like Eldest nearly as much as Eragon.

We just watched the movie this past weekend and I did not like it at all -- parts were OK but I did not like the portrayal of Brom and it seemed sort of sketchy and it just barely hit the high points of the book.

I enjoyed Eragon very much. JJ loves it too. This should be a good topic. Read the book and skip the movie -- until after the book -- the movie would not make too much sense if you had not read the book.

Already both books and decided to skip the movie a long time ago when Panther did some research and saw that it was ruined.

Anyway, what parts do you like best? parts that you didn't like?

And yeah, the second book wasn't as good. Gets a little dry and loooong after awhile.

I also skipped the movie since I am too much of a stickler for exact details. Wouldn't enjoy it very much and better off not watching it.

Hey, hey Himura! No double posts to boost post #. Fair play and all that.
I read both books, haven't heard much about number 3 and...Well, y'all know that. I figured the movie would be...bad, and I seem to have been right. I don't care to invest time to prove it to myself. Others have said the movie is a poor movie, regardless of the story of Eragon. A movie based on a book, that fails to even be a good movie doesn't rate high on my list of things to watch.

To that I agree, nothing irriates me more than movie based on a book ruined because the producers decided to change key points etc. Totlally ruins the movie for me

Well, some movies based on books are good movies. Fun to watch, interesting plot, good characters. But it doesn't have to be true to the book to be a good movie. Then there are movies that botch the book details and turn out a bad movie. Then they really have nothing to go off to sell it.

True, though that is the stickler in me wanting it to be exact to the book :)
