Ok, it seems that everyone knows that I am in China right now. Well, actually that's not true. I am in Hong Kong. Which is actually totally different, yet not. In Hong Kong they drive in the left side of the street, and the steering wheel is on the right side of the car. In China it's not.

What am I doing?:
I am smuggling Bibles once or twice a day across the border between Hong Kong or China. And actually it's fairly simple. It's a walk across border so we don't fly or anything. You fill a suitcase, or back pack with Bibles. There are two stops that you make before you make it to the other side. Exiting Hong Kong and entering China. NOw after you pass through the second stop, there is a scanner where we only put the suitcases. Unless they ask you to put you bag on it. Which they usually don't. It's really not all that dangerous. If they stop you they don't ask questions. They either take some of the Bibles away, take all, or they just roll you eyes. And let you go. It's not actually illegal to take Bibles over the border. You're jsut not allowed to take a whole lot of anything. So, what we do isn't all the daring or grand. It's actually a lot of fun. And we're getting the Word out to the people of China which is great!

How am I doing?:
Haha I'm doing just fine. It's pretty cool here right now. The only thing that bothers me is the odd places I get mosquito bites. It's a tropical area here so mosquitos are common. Right now I have six bites. One near one of my knuckles. The other on the side of my finger. One on my wrist, my back. And two on my shin. Odd places...

What's it like in China?:
A lot different. Haha. Not very many people speak English all that wel. Most none at all. But you get used to that. Malls here are generally five to six stories high and the stores are a lot smaller. Like they're really really small. And most people don't have cars here. Cars are a luxury. Most people take the metro or buses. Or taxis. And the funniest thing. The first two days, I had 7 first times. First time on a bus, taxi, metro, subway, tram, ferry, and a double decker bus. Tonight I am going on a train for the first time. And sometime this weekend, probably, I will be ice skating for the first time.

Yeah, I will not be able to get on and post tonight or tomorrow. Tonight I will be taking an overnight 6 or 7 hour train ride to a place in China called Gon Jo(I'm not sure if that's how it is spelled though), and spending all of Friday there. Then I will be taking the train home Friday evening and arriving early in the morning Saturday.

There is so much more I want to tell you all about, but it will have to wait for another time. I have to get off and start getting ready for work.

That's awesome JJ! I'm glad you're able to have an experience like that, and it's great that more Bibles are being taken to places that really need it. I really enjoyed reading that, and I can't wait to hear more about your trip.

One of the people in the group I was with these past few weeks plans to move to China after she graduates so she can teach English and use that as a ministry for the Lord. I don't know if she plans to do it immediately after she graduates, or wait a while. I think that's pretty cool though, and thought you might like to hear it.

I had my first taxi and train rides last week too lol.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

I am so proud of all of you, it is such a blessing to know such wonderful Christian youth. I want you all to know that you inspire and uplift me everyday. coming here is spending time with friends, good Christians friends and I consider it quite a blessing and a privilege.

I knew this site was worth keeping going with the note to self topic. You can not imagine my glee the day Oogy posted -- it had been a very long time and now -- old friends are back and we have other new members.

Lilbro is special, we can talk here of things that are important -- I am so pleased with the way things are going.

Please continue to share -- matters of faith are so important.

Thanks to all of you.

I'm sure you uplift us youth as well LES. You have wisdom that only comes by having more time with the Lord. Every Believer uplifts each other in some degree but those with greater wisdom have the greatest impact :)

Those are very kind words Himura. Thank you.

It has been my privilege and my greatest blessing to walk with the Lord and to try to know him more each day.
It is my desire to always move forward and you are right, we should all uplift each other.

I do admire the dedication of the young Christians here, you are all very special to me.

JJ and her family are traveling in China today, I think we should all keep her, her sister, and father in our prayers. Her Mom is home but I think we should remember her as well -- she is probably missing them very much.

Thanks for the info JJ. I've never had the opportunity to smuggle Bibles, but knowing that in places of the world people die to obtain a few pages of the Bible is sobering. I try not to take for granted that my family has multiple bibles in different translations, and we don't have to fear for our lives because of it.

Thank you all for your prayers. The trip went well, and we had a great time traveling through a city in China. We got to see a lot of amazing ancient structures and such. We walked along a very old wall at the end of the city. It was a good 2000 years old, and at the end right where two rivers met was a building that used to be the area where soldiers would fight to protect the city. There were really old cannons and such. It was really cool. We saw some structures that were a few hundred years old. They were really cool. And the food was really good. Haha. I had porridge for the first time and it wasn't too bad. The chinese certainly know how to eat their veggies though. Unfortunately I'm not big ont cooked vegetables, so I didn't eat much of them. Though they did have a vegetable dumpling type dish that was tasty. And different meat dumplings. Chinese food is extremely good, for the most part. Some of it can be very greasy. And some if very spicy.

Himura, it's cool that some of the people that your sister and brother-in-law were doing the same thing. I wonder if they are working with the same ministry. There are a couple.

Oogy, if you happen to talk to the girl you mentioned, tell her I think that is really cool that she wants to teach English here. It'd be awesome!! Do you know if she plans on staying in Hong Kong or China?
