Well, I had to create a topic on Narnia, because LES says that everyone used to have such fun talking about it, and I want to rise up the chats again :D Though I'm sure we'll get on tangents very often. :D We always do.

Sooo, to start the topic off, if you have seen the new movie of CHronicles of Narnia, what did y'all thing of it?

Good topic JJ --- We should all have much to say.

I really did enjoy the movie --- I was concerned that they would mess it up --- but all in all -- a good job. It wasn't totally true to the book --- but then it seems a movie never is.

I do wish they had gotten to Narnia a little quicker --- but oh my when Lucy
found the wardrobe I began to really get excited -- I wanted to see Narnia ! I had seen so many trailers it wasn't a surprise but still quite exciting.

Aalan of course was the very best -- he was well done and I did like the voice very much.

I will stop here hoping to hear the thoughts of others. I KNOW we all love Narnia and have seen the movie.

Aslan was the very best!! He was very well cast, and I think Liam Neeson did a wonderful job sounding like Aslan might sound. HOnest, sincere, and yet tougher than nails. :D

I thought the children were well casted. They all did a good job, especially Lucy and Peter. They were very well cast. :) I really liked the Profesor. He was nice. And his hair was great. jsut how I might imagine him. :)

Let's see. I thought Narnia looke so AWESOME!! :D I guess all I can say is that I loved the movie soo much. But I'm all alone here, because my family didn't think it too great. But then agian, they've never read the books, and aren't narnia fans. :(

And there were querks that sort of bothered me. But they weren't big, and didn't drastically affect the story. Things like the Chief of Police, he ahd a different name thatn in the book. But other than the litle things, It was jsut great!

ONe thing I have to say that I laughed at throughout the movie was the Witch's outfits. They looked like they were made of cardboard around the top. :D I thought they were so funny looking, no offense to her or the costume designers. But they weer jsut a little strange. :)

I'm pretty sure the Chief of Police's name was the same in both.. I see no reason why they should change... Isn't it "Maugrim"?

I was noticing the same thing about changing the name to Maugrim. So I did a little research, because my version says Fenris Ulf, not Maugrim. What I found out was that C.S. Lewis made a few changes for the American publication. One of the changes was Maugrim to Fenris Ulf. Apparently Lewis was a big fan of Norse mythology, and Fenris Ulf is a wolf from Norse mythology. He also made a few other changes, I guess he added a little bit to one of the chapters in the Dawn Treader, that is what I hear.

I absolutely loved the movie! I was rather concerned about them getting it right, but I thought they did terrific! I don't think they really changed anything that I wasn't expecting them to change. The middle section is different, but I expected it to be, because in the book that is pretty much all dialog, which is wonderful in a book but not very exciting in a movie.

I think the cast was perfect! They all played their parts very well.

Well, most of us agree that the Witch was probably the weakest part. BUt it was great anywyas. :D

It's good to see you posting again Silas. :D Haven't in a while.

Yes, my version also says Fenris Ulf, and that's why it confused me. But I guess it was jsut a misunderstanding.

Thank you Silas --- that is very interesting information.

Would mind to tell us what was added to Voyage of the Dawn Treader -- or tell me where to find the
information.

I loved the movie so much, I am looking forward to the release of the video --- around Easter I hear, I want to see it again. It just seemed that there is so much to take in --- and seeing the first time it was just amazing to see Narnia -- it was all overwhelming. The lamp post -- seeing Digory --- knowing what he knew when he talked to the kids about finding Narnia again. Thinking about his adventures in the Magician's Nephew.

If they ever make a movie of Voyage of the Dawn Treader -- well --- that and the Last Battle -- I would need a whole box of Kleenex. It is so emotional to see it all -- things that you have seen in your mind so many times.

I think that you really would need to know the whole story -- read all the books -- to fully appreciate the movie.

It is such a good thing that I discovered Narnia through Lilbro and here we are still talking about it.

I'm so glad that I have read the books. I loved them so much, and it does make Narnia all the better. :) I used to ahve the little cartoon, and that's how I discovered Narnia at first, but I was never really interested in reading the Chronicles, becuase when I was younger I hated to read. It wasn't until LR came out in theaters, and I heard that they were based off of books, and I started to read them, that I really fell in love with them. That was only a few eyars ago. About three I think. And then you guys told me how good they were and how mkuich you loved them that I actually borrowed them one by one form the library and read them. And i loved them soo much, they've quickly become my favorite books.

I think it would be great if they made all the books into movies. My friend and I were chatting about it the other day, and we both agree that they should all be made into movies. :)

"It's good to see you posting again Silas. :D Haven't in a while. " - Well, thank you! It has been a while!

I actually found out that information on a website, but I'm afraid I don't know where exactly:( I think what he added in the Dawn Treader was just a sentance or two, it was something in the dark island chapter...
Of course, I like the my version best because of all the memories, but I guess it doesn't really matter;-)

I certainly agree that they should make all the books into movies! That would be great, but only if they are as good as this one!
