Lord of the Flies, now that brings back memories -- a very curious book and comparing it to Frankenstein, that is something to think about ! You are going to be busy. I am familiar with Jane Eyre of course but I have never heard of Wide Sargasso Sea.

Summer is going to be gone before we know it.

Yes, I am really enjoying it. I was just about to pick it up and read for a bit. Haven't been able to for like the last five days. Today has been a more lazy day because it's really hot out. A little too hot to do yard work. I'll probably go out there around 8 and get some work down. It'll be cooler by then. I hope.

I've never read Lord of the Flies, but I've heard that it's a very interesting book. My mom hates it, though.

I hope summer is gone before we know it. I hate the heat. I don't even want to go outside. But the real reason I can't wait for summer to be gone is because my favorite season comes after summer! FALL! or Autumn whatever you want to call it :D I love Fall! Pretty reds and oranges, though you don't actually get to see that as much out here... but still it's prettier than usual. And in the morning on the way to school there's usual fog on the side of the freeway because the freeway I take to school has rural country area on both sides. And one side there's this big hill. When it's foggy there I call it the barrow downs. Because the fog stays sort of low so where some areas of land rise you can see the top but not the bottom. And it's exactly how I picture "Fog on the Barrow Downs". It's really cool. In the late spring and early summer though that same hilly area is like the picturesque area for Hobbiton. It's all green and perty. :D So I guess there is something good about summer. I get to drive by Hobbiton all the time :) Haha!

I am sorry to say that the heat is coming back here as well, we have one more cool day tomorrow but then it is
going to get back up to 90 degrees. I dread even going outside when it is like that.

Good Morning

Looks like summer is settling in, not my favorite time of the year. Hot and humid, but then that is to be expected in Oklahoma, it is almost the 4th of July already -- it is going by quickly.

I started Redwall, hmmmmm not what I was expecting but I have only read 30 or 40 pages, we will see. No question the author has a good writing style.

Oogy is on vacation, JJ is just MISSING and so I guess for a little it is time for this topic again. Kara ia missing as well.

Wow -- it is actually cool and pleasant with a nice breeze, cloudy and very nice. All I want to do is read, alas tis not to be. We are working outside and then perhaps in the afternoon some relaxing time.

JJ has checked in, she is not missing just enjoying a great summer and traveling as well. We are staying close to home even for the 4th -- so don't worry, someone will be here. I am so happy that you are all having a good time. We have been as well and are truly looking forward to the upcoming holiday weekend. Our friends have a cookout and fireworks every year, I suppose we will go but the weather forecast is for rain, we will see. I am not fond of the hot weather.

A 4 day weekend, now that sounds just right ! Hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad and devilled eggs. Watermelon and chocolate cake of course ! A strawberry cake too, we must have that.

We had a very nice remembrance service this past Sunday to honor those that have served. That is what it is all about. I do respect and honor our American heroes.

What fun with ACWW, I actually made over 200 thousand bells in 1 day. I caught MANY of those giant beetles only on the coconut trees. I also caught large quantities of Saw Tooth and Stag beetles and such. I love bug hunting and this is the best time of the year for it. Fishing has been great as well, I caught 3 sharks, I have never done that in one day before.
