Yes, I believe in my sis, and I pray that she will do well in the army, I just hope she doesn't have too hard of a time with it. She told me another reason she wants to go is that they'll pay for college when she gets out.

I went shopping on saturday with my mom and we had some fun! For once. I don't like shopping, and I especially don't like shopping with her. But this time we had a good time. I bought a dress for my friends wedding. It's a sort of flowery floral=ish print with lavender, black, red-ish brown, light brown, tan, and off-white. Which, now that I think of it, does not sound like it would be pretty. But it is, it's very pretty :)

And I got a couple new shirts, and and some swimming shorts. I want to get a new bathing suit sometime to wear the the river because my other one is not looking so well. It's a few years old.

I have to do some yard work today. Cleaning up the backyard and raking up a ton of weeds. And that sort. And...... then I am going jobhunting. I need to get a job so I need start looking for one right now.

And yeah, that's my news.

Oh..... I'M A SENIOR!! Yay!! I get to start taking my SAT's and filling out applications for college, writing entrance essays. Oh what fun... :P Haha!

So the time has finally come, you are now officially a senior. Congratulations JJ.

Job hunting, what sort of thing do your want to get ?

I bathed all the dogs today and I think that I got wetter than they did. Now it is time to wash the rugs and dog beds. It is like having a house full of kids.

Perhaps Steph will do well with the Army and help with college would be very nice. I will pray for her too.

JJ, like I said I would I ordered Here There be Dragons yesterday. Are you reading the naming yet ?

Sounds like you are all set for your trip to the river, is that coming up soon ? Sometimes it is hard to find cloths, seems like you were quite successful.

I must go, it is time to start supper.

Your Senior year, hard to believe !

Sorry I haven't posted in like ten days. I've been really bsuy since summer vacation started. I've been trying to find a job and working every day in the yard for my dad. I've barely had any time at all to get on the computer.

Yes, I am reading the Naming, but like I said I've barely had any time, so I haven't goten very far. I'll try and hurry up and read it so we can discuss. I don't even remember where I am at right now because it's been a couple days since I picked it up.

I'm glad you ordered Here, There Be Dragons. You'll love it! I promise.

I was at the book store today with my dad, cheap bookstore, and I was browsing through some fantasy novels when I picked up a book called Redwall. You won't believe what was on the cover! It was a litte mouse holding up a sword and a shield and I immediately thought of Reepicheep. And it looked so cute I had to get it! Apparently it's the first book in a bestselling series by Brian Jacques. A small excerpt describing the book says " The book that inspired a legend- the first novel in the bestsellign saga of Redwall! The epic story of a bumbling young mouse who rises up, fights back... and becomes a legend himself..." Doesn't that sound like a fun book? Well, as soon as I'm done with the Naming and the Riddle, I'll read it. And we'll see if it's good :)

Well I guess you are busy young lady. I would like to point out that you have not had time for email either ! I do
not think you even read all the post. Now I am feeling bad because you must REALLY be busy, weeding is terrible. That is why I bought a book on gardening with native plants ! ( A fancy name for weeds )

I already have the book Here There be Dragons ! (HTD) from now on and I am reading it, the funny little guy Bert just showed up with the book and I think it is about to get interesting. I have not had much time either but I am all the way to page 15 ! : )

It really is nice to see you back JJ, I have missed you.

I am going to check on that other book, it does sound like a good find. Naming first though, then you will surely want to read the rest of the books of Pellinor !

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story for both children and adults., February 18, 2000
By Matthew Karns "Matt" (Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania USA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Redwall (Redwall, Book 1) (Hardcover)
O.K. First allow me to confess that I am a full fledged adult, 30 years old, with a full-time job, bills to pay, a house to maintain, etc. Having said that, I want to say that this book was truly wonderful. This is my first exposure to the "Redwall" series and anyone who would care to look at my recent Amazon.com purchases would see that I have many more books on the way. This series is truly addictive in the best sort of way. I think the thing I most liked about this story were the wonderful characters. Silent Sam the squirrel, Warbeak the sparrow, Constance the badger, and of course Matthias and Cluny the Scourge! So many other amazing characters as well. Cluny is probably one of the best villians in print. The story itself is full of mystery, legend, heroism, humor, bravery, sadness, valor, I could go on. The imagination of Mr. Jacques is truly astounding. He has created an entire universe and added fascinating characters to "people" it. What more could one ask for in a story? I have read that the entire "Redwall' series encompasses over 8,000 pages, a truly monumental work. I am anticipating total immersion in these books to the exclusion of all else. In addition to it's wonderful content this book was quite simply a wonderful way to escape from the everyday stresses and concerns of the modern world. I would highly recommend this story to anyone who loves a tale of high adventure, valor, and mystery, and to those who just want to escape with a good tale. Immerse yourself in this world. You will not regret it.

I'm glad that it seems I chose a great book, and all because it reminded me of Reepicheep! That's so funny. The name caught my eye, and when I saw the cover I just had to buy it. I was at a discount bookstore so it was only 50 cents.

And I'm so glad you're enjoying Here, There Be Dragons so far :)

Sorry I cabn't say much. In a hurry!

I'm pretty sure I've heard of the Redwall series before, and I think it was good reviews then too. Haven't read any of it personally though.

I had never heard of it. I am so curious, I ordered the first book, the one JJ bought.

All because of Reepicheep ! No wonder we love him JJ ! Now let's hope we like the book. Now that you told me it is compared to Watership Downs I am really interested. I will never forget Hazel and Fiver. I would recommend that book strongly.

I can agree with this short review of the book Watership Down :

This is one of the great books of the centrury. Richard Adams has effectively captured a fictional representation of what life for a rabbit could be like. The adventures of Hazel, Bigwig, and company after successfully escaping the destruction of their original warren thanks to the warnings of one of their comrades is a delight for all ages. What I love most about this text is the details with which Adams has presented these animals. He has created a whole world, complete with language and mythology for these animals to draw upon. The pacing is quick and you can't help but plow through it. For me, much of the book was about finding home and what you were willing to do to not only find one, but also defend it (although Adams maintains it has no allegorical significance). I think this is one of those great books you revisit every year, finding new things with every reading. Buy it and enjoy.

Watership Down looks sound slike a great book too! :) I'd love to read it when I get the chance. But after I'm done with the books of Pellinor and Redwall all books will have to be put on hold because I have to get my summer work done for AP English class for next year. It's similar to what I did last year except I have to read four different books. Frankenstein, The Lord of the Flies, Jane Eyre, and Wide Sargasso Sea. And in two essays identify the meaning of the books, and compareand constrast Frankenstein with the Lord of the Flies, and Jane Eyre with Wide Sargasso sea. Should be interesting. I've always wanted tor ead the Lord of the Flies and Frankenstein. I've never actually heard of Wide Sargasso sea before Ms. J's class, and of course I love the story of Jane Eyre. My sister is obsessed with the movie. She own's both versions. And for a while she used to watch them all the time!
