Specifically Tetris DS :)
I picked it up yesterday. I really shouldn't have because it's extremely addicting. I "beat" the main game my first try (meaning I went up to and finished level 20 and saw the end credits) but the other modes fascinate me. I didn't care too much for the one where you fly this core around and attempt to destroy enemies but the touch mode and the puzzle mode are really great, I love them and I think you would really, really like them too LES, if you're into puzzles at all. There are 200 puzzles to solve in the puzzle mode and I've done 101 so far. The push mode is very frantic. I've not had a chance to try anything out online yet but I imagine that is very fun. I like it a lot!
I probably shouldn't have bought it, now I'm alternating between a quick puzzle and physics homework. I don't have time for this! But it's really, really good. I think you'd like the touch and puzzle modes LES, and HR might too, because they are quite brain-bending towards the end. I'm seeing Tetris pieces in my head!

I was wondering if you got it ! HR ask me last night if you had mentioned it -- I told him no and we deducted that maybe you were afraid it would be too tempting.
HR IS IN TOWN NOW AND HE IS GOING TO SEE IF THEY HAVE IT AT THE
SUPERCENTER ! Wow now I am really looking forward to it -- keep in mind I was never good at the original but you know what I like and that post makes me want it even more. You know I like puzzle games.
Clearly -- you are an expert -- I knew you would do great but I am VERY
impressed that you finished ( technically ) or beat the game the first time.
It is a good thing that I am used to how good you are or I would be intimidated. :~)
I will let you know if HR was able to get it. He does not say much but I think he is interested.
I have just gotten to the point I am not spending so much time on ACWW ---
Now there is another one. ( day 13 on my perfect town )
I had better hurry and finish my work --- I just might want to play !
Logan I know your time is very limited but I think a little game break here and there would be helpful. You have enough self control to balance things.
HR JUST called --- HE HAS IT ! :)

You may not care for the standard game all that much, but like I said, I do think you will really like the touch mode and the puzzle mode. I like those a lot too :) There is no time limit, no stress, just sitting back and trying to figure it out while fiddling with the stylus.

I am as bad at the original Tetris as ever.
Catch --- o.k.
Mission -- not tried
Touch -- I like that one
Puzzle IS THE ONE FOR ME --I played to the 16th puzzle and had to quit -- I hope it saves !
A good game for my collection -- I will play it for a long time. Time surely does pass quickly when playing --- yes I like Touch and Puzzle the best by far ! ( I still have to try Mission )
I would recommend it for Puzzle alone.
I am quite sure compared to you I am AWFUL -- but I really like it and I like the fact that if you can put it down -- it is a good game for short play periods. It is one I will truly get my moneys worth from -- good recommendation Logan. I am not sure I would have gotten it if it had not been for your enthusiasm !
I do hope HR takes an interest --- he was very good at Tetris way back when -- that is why we got the NES -- I wasn't even interested and he was obsessed with Tetris. He played for hours ! -- I kept saying I do not see what you see in that silly thing. Now he says he doesn't like the itty bitty screen -- If he ever tries it I may not get my DS back ! Oh well --- they say that the DS Lite has a brighter screen :)
ACWW remains my favorite.

I didn't play ACWW at all yesterday, I was hooked on Tetris :(
After a friend left last night (we had cherry coke floats at my place after the Bible study) I decided "hey, why not just try the wi-fi once?" Big mistake. I probably played for 45 minutes and it was past 11:00 when I stopped. They players online were surprisingly good, I think that the ones who bought this game aren't new to the world of Tetris, since Tetris doesn't really seem to attract all that many new players. I was feeling pretty good though and was beating everyone I played against. The last person however, was very good (and tricky) and he beat me 3 straight rounds, then I beat him, then he beat me a couple more and then the last two rounds I won, I think I was getting into the "super Tetris" mode where you place pieces with lightning-fast rapidity and you're almost infallible. That's my super power ability :)
*sigh*
I love Tetris!
I'm past puzzle 150 in the puzzle mode, I'll be done with it soon. I think I've been able to do about 2/3 of those puzzles first try but then there have been about ten that just took me forever to figure out for some reason. I was approaching it wrong.
We'll have to play online sometime! I need to check my friend code.

The truth is I am so terrible you would be bored silly ! I do not have any idea what competitive play is like -- I wish I could watch -- I have no idea what you are talking about --- was there a version of Tetris where 2 people compete before.
I do suspect you are right -- I doubt if it will attract a new following but the others --- like you -- that are fanatics are very loyal and the online thing might bring in some. Sounds like you had no trouble rounding up good competition.
"That's my super power ability :)" I have no ability :(
I will get the friend code thing -- I will send it to you --- if you are ever really REALLY really feeling patient I would try -- but I have no clue and feel you would be able to do your homework --- eat supper --- check the game ever now and then and still beat me a pulp --- I am that terrible.
Now the one where you have the blocks to choose from and work out the solutions -- Puzzle I guess -- is entertaining --- I do not feel any pressure --
and I can think it through -- so far they are easy enough --- and I do not care if it takes me well --- for ever to finish. On a scale of 1 to 10 Tetris is a 1 for me, Zelda a 10. ACWW a 10 --- keep in mind though --- many games are not even on the list !
I have no Tetris powers --- super power ability indeed --- you are the master.

There were other versions of tetris where you could compete before. In fact, for the NES I believe there was a Tengen version of Tetris that had two players at a time.
I love the N64 version, you can get up to four players going and the lines you clear get "pushed" on to the bottom of your opponent's blocks, so you try to force your opponent to top out first. You can try it against the computer in Standard Tetris I believe, just vs. mode. Apparently online there is a variation where you can do four players and there is items? I have no idea what that is like. Sounds like Mario Kart combined with Tetris!
You say I'm the master but you've not even seen me play. Maybe you're actually the super player and you're just leading me on so you can crush me in an online competition. Hmmm....... ;)
