COOL!! So, my parents are back. And I rode the Willow Creek trail 3 times on Thursday, which was fun. Except somebody tore apart the important bridges over this huge snarl of trees that all decided to fall on the trail in the same place. Without the bridges, I have to pick up my bike and scramble over the snarl, then start riding again. I think I'm going to fix that problem this upcoming week some time.

I'm going to make a bridge over the annoying mess of trees, so I can go faster. Which is a excellent goal. Hopefully I will be able to do it some time this upcoming week. And thusly I shall get a faster time down Willow.

What do you do, do you actual take materials and make a bridge or do you use what nature provides.

Well, I'm probably going to take a bridge that I build at home. Last time I built something out of the logs, and suchlike on site, and it didn't last more than two seasons. I really, really want to be able to beat my dad to the bottom of the hill. He's so nice, and drives me to the top of the mountain, then I ride down the trail, and he drives to the bottom of the trail to pick me up. If I get the trail all nice I (hopefully) will be able to match or better the amount of time it takes him to get to the bottom. Hopefully.

That sounds like a good day for both of you. Good, I was hoping you were going to have a reliable bridge. I do want you to be safe you know.

I built it. It should be great, and hopefully it won't get torn up, like it's forebears. I really, really want to ride now. But as I said elsewhere, I have SAR and work. Monday? Hopefully? Please? I hope I can ride Monday. We shall see. I made a new line on the trail around a big rock that used to eat a fair amount of speed. Now I should be able to shave a few seconds off my time.

Improvement is indeed the goal. As opposed to becoming complacent. Complacent downhiller is an oxymoron. We don't ride to be complacent. "Well, you know, I'm happy with everything and I really don't need any excitement or adrenaline right now, sooooo, I'll just take this trail slow today." Hmmmmmmm, nope, not gonna hear that out of my mouth, (or thoughts).
