Okay, I realize we don't have a core of posters who also ride, but I mountain bike (mtb is shorter to type) so I would like to talk/post about this topic. Hence the new topic. Anyway, right now I am happy to have my bikes in running condition, and to be able to ride (no rain for a week). Also, the Sea Otter Classic race is in April, and the Mtb National Championships are in July, both races I want to attend. Okay, any mtb related questions? Anything you have been puzzled about, and didn't get your question answered? Please, ask me. If I don't know the answer, I will either research it, or make something up. (Kidding about the last part)

Life is short. Ride hard. If you aren't crashing occasionally, you aren't riding hard enough.

I don't have anything to contribute -- but I do enjoy hearing about your adventures. Words like crashing --- and such tend to make me think it is better to hear about than do --- it is still a mystery to me why anyone wants to head down hill on a bike at as high a speed as possible with the full knowledge that CRASHING is a likely outcome.

So -- tell us your stories --- and I will try to keep an open mind --- nawwww
I won't --- but I do like the stories and pictures you have posted.

I don't like hearing the story unless it has the word "crashed" at least 10 times in the course of the dialog. :)

Hearing is good --- it is doing that concerns me. Yes crashing does create interest --- good point.

Crashing is......a educational tool. It tells you that you did something wrong. Crashing is......a way of getting temporary sympathy. Crashing is......a means of breaking your old gear, so you can get new gear. Crashing is......why you have something to talk about in the lift line. Crashing is......a way to get scars to show off. Crashing is......a way to break your old bike, so you have to get a new one. Crashing is......an easy way to get an adrenaline rush. Crashing is......an enlightening process, where you become one with the dirt, rocks, trees, etc. Crashing is......a way of showing off your natural grace. Crashing is......whatever you make it.

There, enough crashing for you folks?

Oh man, sure, you had "crashing" but not "crashed"! So nope, it didn't suffice. Sorry.

I will enjoy watching this conversation ! For myself -- I would prefer not to be involved in any sequence -- crashing or having crashed. I would probably be good at crashing however. :( With I am quite, sure NO good results.
