Since everyone else seems to have a journal, and this is the most obvious way to keep everyone up-to-date with the daily happenings of me. Which will be very exciting. I lead an exciting life. I go to uni, I work at Coles (which is a grocery store like King Kullen (that was the name of the grocery store around the corner from me when I lived in NY)) and occasionally I see my lovely boyfriend Ben.

Huh. I may as well give up on the journal as I've told you everything already...

... Just kidding. But don't go expecting anything too exciting.

I went to a party last night for one of the girls at work. I was only there for a while because Melissa (my younger sister who also works at Coles) needed to come home and work on her assignments, and the party was full of people we didn't know. I'm planning on going to church tonight (I don't make it all that often because of work - I'm bad, I know).

I planned out my university career the other day. If all goes well (and I can't see why it won't) I should be graduating in June of 2010. Which is actually midyear here, but enough people do graduate then. If all goes well for Ben and he gets into the honours year, then he should graduate then as well. Which couldn't have worked out better if we'd wanted it.

I have other plan after that, but I'll talk about them later. I don't want to overload you with too much information outright.

Ben and I have been discussing for the past couple days the possibility of him working for ASIO (the Australian equivalent of the CIA) as an analyst. If he graduated at the end of this year. he'd be able to apply now, but since he graduates his undergraduate portion of his studies middle of next year, he has to wait.

I'm quite excited for him. Its exactly the type of job he wants, and since its a government job, you know that there's a degree of job and pay security. Similarly, I'd like to work for the Australian government's financial and corporate regulatory bodies for a few years before I move into banking and finance for the corporate sector.

I think that, ideally, Ben and I will stay in Australia for a few years after we graduate (though it is very tempting to go overseas almost immediately) working for our appropriate government sectors before we move to England to work there for a few years. Hopefully Ben will either be able to work for ASIO in London - I'm sure they have an office there; or perhaps work for MI5 doing a similar job - which would be pretty cool (he'd be like James Bond, except not so life threatening); or work for a company as an analyst.

I know that if I want a good job in a large bank (I'd especially like to work for an investment bank, or possibly in the trading sector of a commercial bank) in Australia, I really do need some decent experience in one of the older banks in the UK. Plus, since I have family there, it would be nice to be near them for a change (I also suspect that some of my family here are planning on doing something similar to what I'm doing. That, is, having a "working holiday" in the UK).

Now I've got to go to class (I'm in the library at uni killing time between classes). I might post more late, though no promises of anything too soon).

Pip pip.

Either way it sounds like you two have quite a good plan and very interesting times ahead. It will be interesting I am sure hearing what the two of you do. You have come so far since we first met Kara. The adventure is just beginning, you said it would be fun watching you grow up and it surely is.

Today is a public holiday (Labour Day), so I don't have to go to work or uni today. But I do have to work on my assignments, which I've done a bit of this morning.

But I'm procrastinating at the moment. The weather is so nice outside at the moment, a little cool, but the sun is out and its nice and warm (but not hot) - cool and warm at the same time. Just the way I like it. I even went out and jumped on my old trampoline for a while - I considered trying a few flips and stuff like I used to be able to do when I did gymnastics, but the jumping was making me need to use the bathroom (I'm sure you all wanted to hear that).

My dad's nephew (my cousin) from the UK is in South East Asia at the moment. He's coming to visit us sometime late June/early July (the coolest months, when you should visit Lynn). Then later my mum's nieces (they're twins) are heading out to the UK to visit one of their boyfriends. My grandmother is also heading out to the UK so she can take a cruise to Finland (and that sort of area). Everyone is going on trips. Even my other cousins from Melbourne are up here in Brisbane for a visit. I want to go on a trip somewhere. Ben keeps saying he wants to go on a plane trip, and I keep suggesting we go down to Melbourne, but he never has the money or the time >_<. Or so he says...

I went to SLN (Sunday Night Live) at one of the local (ish) Lutheran School's Church (actually, it was the feeder school for my Lutheran primary, but my parents elected to enroll me in the closer Anglican school that had a better reputation) with my cousins who go every 2nd week (SNL is only on every second week) and my sister. It was pretty good - I've only been about two or three other times including this one time when I was about 14. So nearly 6 years ago.

I'm thinking about thinking about getting baptised - if that makes sense. As I'm a Baptist, we don't do child baptism (Ben is/was a Catholic, so he's baptised), so I was never baptised then, and I've never really gotten around to it later (we had a few problems with our Church when I was around 16 or so, and we've never really settled with a new Church since then, so the issue has never come up too strongly. I want to find a Church with who's family I feel a part of, and the Church we're attending sporadically at the moment is just too big, I feel). I've always wanted to be baptised, I just haven't really heard the calling before.

Well you did just take quite a lengthy trip Miss Kara, you do like to travel : )

That is interesting, I think getting Baptized is very important and it is between you and the Lord. It is our way of saying openly that he is our Saviour and we are doing as he taught us. A public show of faith. I know that it it is not what saves us as only the blood of Christ can do that but it is something I feel we should do because Jesus said to. After what he did for all of us it is the very least we can do for him. I know Ben is Catholic, my but that does take us back to where we met Kara. I do not know much about the way they do things but I do believe that being baptised only matters after you have made a personal decision to accept Christ as your Saviour. But then you are a Baptist like me and I am sure you have been taught the same. I wish you could find that church that is just right for you Kara, however I think if you feel the call to be baptised you should not wait.

OK -- I am done now.

Yes I have decided that it would have to be June or July -- the cooler the better for us !

I have always kept you in my prayers Kara, but I will be especially sure to pray for you now.

I always remember JJ too, my but she is growing up.

I thoroughly enjoyed our Wii chat this morning ! Think how much fun it is going to be when you get MK Wii !
I am glad that you have sorted out your wifi issues and I did read the messages before your email !

I must go and cook supper now.

I edited Ben's Mii on my Wii. It now has a ponytail like he has. I sent you a copy of Ben and Mel as well, Lynn. I hope you like then :D I have sent you another message by our Wiis (is that the plural, or would it be Wiii, like cacti?), Lynn. I do love Wii messages. The blue glow fills me with excitement!

Assignments are due soon :S. But on the bright side, one is half done, and the other two are self explanatory enough - I just have to sit down and actually DO them.

I can't believe its already after 11PM here. I feel like I only just got home from uni (I got home around 9:30, maybe 10:00). Time flies when you don't have enough of it, doesn't it?

Back to work.

Pip pip!

So far I have only gotten your spiffy new Mii, they erased the old one when that one came though, I will miss it.

Now that we have a router and a wireless network my Wii is on all the time and I too find getting messages to be great, If I do not see the blue light HR will tell me. I think he rather enjoys it as well. Hmmm I am thinking it is Wiis, sounds good to me.

You must send me a new picture of Ben, the last I had was prom and he had quite short hair then. I am very very happy to get Mel's Mii. I love getting them. The last picture I have of her she was a little girl. I think I am starting to feel old.

We never have enough time --- N E V E R. At least we are never bored.

The Mii is the same Mii, she's just brushed her hair differently. I did not start from scratch or anything. I saw my Mii have a snooze and then wake up when it had to sneeze the other day. It was the cutest thing! ^_^

Mel should have been in that picture I emailed you. She's got longish redish hair, and is taller than me, despite being my younger sister.

I will also try and track down a newer picture of Ben, since the one from my prom is nearly three years old and he's turned into a uni student (and not a private school boy) since then. His ponytail is almost as long as mine now (and his is curly, whereas mine is quite straight), and it certainly will be longer than mine when I (finally) go and get my hair cut again.

My Wii sits in my bedroom (the only safe place in the house with a TV that I can use at my digression), and I I like the way my room glows blue when I get home if I have a new message.

Pip pip.

My Wii is int the corner ( my Nintendo corner ) of the family room with its own flat screen t.v. and all of my Nintendo things around it, shelves of games and such. We usually notice the blue light fairly quickly. It is really a nice way to stay in touch.

I think they should have let me keep both versions of the Mii : (

Awwwwwwwwww yes, I looked at the picture again, Mel is the other one with a scarf isn't she. I thought it was surprising how much you look like your cousin, now that explains it. She really has grown up.

A new picture of Ben or the both of you would be great, that sounds like quite a change.
