I just bought it :D I just beat the first boss and so far I'm enjoying it and I think it will probably only get better as the game goes on. I have a feeling it will definitely be worth the $48.71(after tax and my walmart discount) I spent on it.

I was really hoping you would post about the game here. We do not have to worry about spoilers because you will surely be ahead of me and I do not mind what you say. Let the serious game talks begin. I am so glad you got the game and that you didn't sell you Wii and that we can finally have a real game topic here.
The first Boss --- I knew it was going to be interesting when I saw the egg and it got hit and started to crack.
That was some Piranha plant -- It was rather funny to see him hit himself.
I like the idea of shooting star bits as weapons and feeding the stars they are Lumna I think. It is still a bit new.
I thought the opening sequence was very interesting but I set out eagerly to explore the fascinating village and to hopeful enter the houses, you know enjoy the festival -- but you know what happened ! I was a bit disappointed, but not too surprised. That bowser -- he gets more capable the older he gets --- I like that.
I do hope I get to play today.
That Walmart discount is nice, I think the ticket at Best Buy was $52.49. I am not totally sure but that is close.
Anyway it was $49.00 plus the 9.26% Arkansas tax -- I am terrible with numbers. That is HR's job !

I probably played it a lot longer today than I should've lol. I'm lovin' it though. A friend came over for a while and we did the two player thing, that was pretty fun too. I really like the music in the game too, and that's coming from someone who plays 90% of my games with the sound off so I can just play my own music. I like that they reused a lot of old Mario music. They also brought in a lot of other stuff from the old games(like the flying battleships from SMB3). Everytime I see something from one of the old games, it just seems that much cooler. Like in the last level I played, I saw dry bones(the skeleton koopa). They get really creative with the gravity too, and make some interesting puzzles with it. The levels are fun enough that sometimes I go back and play a level just because it was a cool level, not necessarily because there's something else I need to get from it. I also like the new suits that I've tried so far, like the bee suit and the ice flower. I haven't been able to try the boo suit yet, but I'm sure it'll be cool too.
The only complaint I've got so far is that the underwater parts can get kind of hard to control once in a while, but that is very minor.

I was already eager to play and that post just intensified the desire ! Sadly I did not get to play yesterday, there was just no time and I knew if I ever started I would do like you and play for a long time. Oh I do wish I had a friend ( close ) that played -- I would love to try the 2 person part -- I can not imagine how it works but there is so much going on with catching all of the falling stars and trying to keep an eye on the action --- whew a little help would be nice.
I loved the suits in SMB 3 -- I did have trouble controlling the frog suit though. I can only imagine what fun I have in store with a Bee Suit ! Oh I do remember Dry Bones and of course the flying battleship thing -- it was at the end of every level -- I have treats in store for me seeing old friends and new suits -- well the battleship was not exactly a friend but I did enjoy those sequences.
I hope to play some today but with Thanksgiving coming up and so much cooking to do my time will be limited.
I do not mind though I had expected this game to last me a long time. I think since you have been being very conservative this was the perfect game for you to invest in, lot's of fun, from what I have heard a very large game and you say great replay value. I do like when a game is good enough to enjoy replaying a level -- that is one of the signs of a great game.
It did take me a little bit to make the jump from the weird world with the big black hole and the rolling rocks -- I am still getting used to the weird feel that the gravity has sometimes. Being able to walk all the way around the world is very odd and at times disorienting. I do not fault the game in anyway -- it is just me -- I issues with heights and I will need a little time to get used to this concept. Remember how long it took me to gather the courage to go and kill that PESKY dragon in TP. If I were choosing I would choose a flat world for the game but then new is good.

I just beat the game lol! Probably a sign that I've been playing way too much the past couple days, but it's really hard to put down. Even though I just finished watching the credits though, I'm really nowhere near through with it. I've only got about half the stars, and supposedly they get harder to get from here on, so I've got a challenge ahead of me. Plus, someone told me that after you get all of the stars, you can play as Luigi. If so, that's pretty cool. It also seems that there is a hidden power up that allows you to fly for a certain period of time. I hadn't found that until tonight. It was pretty fun, it controlled similar to the swimming except that you couldn't(or at least I don't think so) control your speed. It took a bit to get used to, but was fun.
I've noticed that even the levels that I die a lot on always have me coming back for more(I might even say I like them more sometimes). And if you're good about collecting the coins and star bits, there is normally a pretty good supply of lives(though if you quit and come back it starts you back at 4 lives). And the princess thoughtfully sends you 5 1-up mushrooms in the mail pretty often... I'm still not sure how they're getting here though lol. I wouldn't think Bowser would let her send packages.
Everytime I fly to another galaxy, I'm anxious to see what creative new levels Nintendo has in store for me this time.

I am impressed ! Sounds like I have some great things in store for me, Sadly I am not feeling well so it will have to wait -- perhaps tomorrow. I heard about the Luigi thing, NP I think ! It is awesome when you can earn something like that by being a very skilled player.
I really enjoyed your post Oogy. You do have a way with words. I still look forward to the novel someday.

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well LES :( I don't have much more of an update. With church today and some chores around here, I haven't played it much since my last post. Not sure how much playtime I'll get in this week either. I think I'm going to drive home twice during the week. It'll be a lot of driving, but I'll get to see one of my sisters and meet my new niece and maybe see my bro inlaw. Then the second time I drive there, I'll get to see both of my sisters and my niece again(but by then my bro in-law will be gone).

Thank you Oogy, I do feel better today and I did play a little yesterday afternoon. I made it to the Beehive part and enjoyed that. I thought crawling around on the Queen ( after I figured out I could ) was a very amusing touch -- we do hate to see an itchy Queen Bee. The flying is interesting and it took a bit of practice to time my flights. I forgot to get to the top of that island or plateau like thing by the swing -- I found the Queen and after the star appeared I could not resist :( I will go back though, I jotted that down for later. I should have gone back then -- I could see some things up there -- stars bits and stuff. I am always too eager to see what is next. Do you remember if there is anything important up there ?
I thought that the ice or glass dome -- ice I think with the weird gravity areas was interesting. I am not sure if I got everything out of that or not --- but when I found the star I left ! I think I pretty much got through it.
It sound like you have a great week planned and I am so happy you are going home -- this is a week for family. It will be a very busy one here as well and today the cooking starts so there will be very little time for playing if any. I do not mind though, I love family time and I intended for this game to last me quite sometime anyway. I really want to play it, that is a great thing -- it is familiar ( traditional Mario ) but yet quite new and interesting. I am in no hurry to finish it and already have things to go back and do. I wish I could go straight back to the Beehive thing but I bet I have to play through the whole area to get there. I am disappointed that you can not build up lives like you always could before in Mario -- it is always 3 up in the corner and I think you loose the others when you quit don't you ?
Have a safe trip and God Bless you and your family at this special time of family and thanksgiving. Your parents must be very happy to have everyone home and what a thrill for you to meet your niece.
I am thankful to have you as a friend Oogy. Having you here at Lilbro and email is a blessing.
Stay in touch of you can, but this will be a busy week for us all.

Oh I did like the part on the retro battleships ! I thought fighting the guy in the lava was fun, he looked intimidating but was not hard -- I enjoyed it and so now the Good Egg Galaxy is complete, and most of the Beehive Galaxy -- one more star there I think. I am progressing slowly but progressing, I did the Manta Race -- I do not remember my time but the big Penguin said I did great and deserved a gold medal and put my star above the ( # 1 ) top platform. I happily grabbed it and ran. Loopdeloop Land ( I hope that is right ) could cause motion sickness -- fortunately I got it the first time.
I want to turn it on and play some so badly but I have committed to leaving it alone until after Thanksgiving dinner. I say I will take one quick look and before I know an hour or more has gone by and I do not have the time to spare today -- too much cooking to do, I do love this game. Sometimes it is really hard for me to behave like an Adult :(
